The Sacrifice Of Jesus

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that who so ever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life." This pretty much sums up the question of how much God loved you, and also promises that when you believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you will have eternal life.

Another great quote of scripture from the Bible is found in the book Romans 6:23. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Believing and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior will ensure eternal life in Heaven.

When Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary, God was sending Him to save the world from their sins. In Matthew 1:21, the verse states, "She will bear a Son and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

Jesus was crucified on the cross at Calvary to offer anyone who believes in Him eternal life. The Bible tells us in the book of John 19 that Jesus suffered a painful death on the cross so that we may have eternal life. God's plan from the beginning was for Jesus to be born to the Virgin Mary, suffer under Pontius Pilate (Matthew 27), and be crucified on the cross. He rose from the grave and now sits at the right hand of our Heavenly Father (Romans 8:34). When Jesus was raised from the dead, this proved that there is eternal life in heaven with God.
